Affiliate Program Terms

Last updated: February 2026

These terms govern participation in the OwnTheMoon affiliate program. By applying, being approved, or promoting OwnTheMoon using a referral link, you agree to them. We may update these terms; continued participation means you accept the updated version.

1. Eligibility and approval

Applications are reviewed manually. We may approve, decline, pause, or end any affiliate account at our discretion. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter an agreement. Accounts must contain accurate information about you and your channels.

2. Your referral link

On approval you receive a unique affiliate code and link in the format ownthemoon.net/?ref=YOURCODE. You may share it on your own social profiles, videos, newsletters, and websites. You may not obscure, cloak, or misrepresent it.

3. Tracking and attribution

  • A click on your link stores your code in the visitor's browser for 30 days.
  • Attribution follows a last valid referral rule: if a visitor later clicks another affiliate's link, that affiliate is credited instead.
  • Tracking depends on the visitor's browser. Cleared cookies, private browsing, blockers, or a different device may prevent a sale from being attributed. No commission is owed for purchases we cannot attribute.

4. Commissions

  • You earn commission at the rate shown in your dashboard on the value of qualifying, completed purchases attributed to your code.
  • Commissions begin as pending, may be moved to approved after a review window, and then to paid once a payout is sent.
  • Refunded, charged-back, fraudulent, or duplicate orders are reversed and earn no commission.
  • Self-referrals and purchases made through your own link do not earn commission.

5. Payouts

Payouts are made manually via PayPal to the payout email on your account. Keep it current — we are not responsible for payments sent to an incorrect address you provided. You are responsible for all taxes on your earnings; you are an independent participant, not an employee, agent, or partner of OwnTheMoon.

6. Advertising disclosure requirements

You must clearly and conspicuously disclose your affiliate relationship wherever you promote OwnTheMoon, in line with FTC guidance and equivalent local rules:

  • Use plain disclosures such as "#ad", "Paid partnership", or "Affiliate link — I earn a commission" placed where viewers see them before they click.
  • Say it out loud in video content, not only in the description.
  • Use each platform's built-in paid-partnership or affiliate disclosure tools.
  • Never hide disclosures behind "more", in hashtag walls, or in fine print.

7. Promotional rules

  • No spam, unsolicited email/DMs, or automated posting.
  • No paid search or ads bidding on OwnTheMoon brand terms without written permission.
  • No fake, incentivized, bot, or self-generated clicks or purchases.
  • No false or misleading claims. OwnTheMoon sells a symbolic, novelty digital collectible — it does not convey legal ownership of lunar land, real estate, or any legal title.
  • No promotion alongside adult, hateful, violent, or illegal content.
  • No impersonation of OwnTheMoon or claiming to speak on our behalf.

8. Brand use

You may use the OwnTheMoon name and provided assets solely to promote the product while your account is active. You may not modify our logo, register confusingly similar names, domains, or social handles, or use our brand in a way that implies employment or endorsement of your other ventures.

9. Customer data

Customers referred by you are OwnTheMoon customers. You never receive customer names, emails, payment details, or piece ownership data — only aggregate stats in your dashboard.

10. Suspension and termination

We may pause or terminate an account and withhold or reverse unpaid commissions for breach of these terms, fraud, or abusive tracking behaviour. Either party may end participation at any time; commissions properly earned before termination and not reversed remain payable.
